A client needed to understand Mexico's financial landscape and monetary policy cycle, including the impact of Banxico's rate decisions. The client required insights into financial inclusion and bank concentration. This understanding was crucial for strategic business decisions.
Our approach involved analyzing Banxico SIE API and INEGI ENIF 2021 survey data, alongside CNBV Portafolio de Información, using Python processing and ECharts interactive visualizations. This methodology provided a comprehensive view of Mexico's financial landscape.
The results showed a significant financial inclusion gap, with 74.5% urban and 48.3% rural adults having at least one financial product. The bank concentration was notable, with the top 5 banks holding approximately 73% of total banking assets.
